Spicy Gram Flour Dumplings

Scipy Gram Flour dumplings is an authentic curry recipe from the spice lovers region in India. Delicious curry made with gram flour dumplings with some spices and curd. As you like my previous recipe the Dosa Recipes show your response to this recipe too.

Ingredients For Gram Flour Dumplings:-

For Dumplings

  • One Cup – Gram Flour
  • One Teaspoon – Cumin Seeds(roasted), Coriander Powder, Ginger(chopped), Red Chilli Powder
  • Half Teaspoon – Turmeric Powder
  • One-Fourth Teaspoon – Baking Soda
  • One Teaspoon – Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt As Required
  • Two Teaspoons – Mint Leaves
  • Two Cups – Water
  • Oil As Needed

For Gravy

  • One Tablespoon – Oil, And Ghee
  • Two Whole – Red Chilli
  • Six To Seven Cloves
  • One – Cinnamon Stick
  • Two – Onions(chopped)
  • Salt As Required
  • Half Teaspoon – Turmeric Powder, Garlic, Red Chilli Powder, Coriander Powder, Asafoetida Water
  • To Teaspoon – Coriander Leaves
  • One Cup – Curd
  • Two Cups – Water

Directions:-

  1. Mix gram flour, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, baking soda, red chili powder, and coriander powder in a large bowl.
  2. Add mint leaves, chopped ginger, and curd to it.
  3. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Gradually add required quantity of water and knead a soft dough.
  5. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portion into cylindrical shapes.
  6. This is how we make the dumplings.
  7. Now in a pan add water. When it comes to boil, add the cylindrical dumplings in the boiling water.
  8. Boil the dumplings until they are fully cooked.
  9. Check the dumplings by inserting a knife in the cylindrical rolls whether they have cooked properly.
  10. Remove the dumplings after they are done, let them cool down for a few minutes and then cut into long pieces.
  11. Now heat oil in a non-stick frying pan and shallow fry the dumplings on medium flame till golden brown.

FOR GRAVY

  1. In a heavy-bottomed frying pan heat oil and ghee both.
  2. Add whole red chili, cloves, and cinnamon stick. Saute for twenty to thirty seconds.
  3. Now add the chopped onions and cook until soft and translucent.
  4. Time to add salt, and turmeric, saute well.
  5. Put garlic, red chili powder, coriander powder, asafoetida water, and coriander leaves.
  6. Combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
  7. Perfect time to add curd and mix it well. Cook until oil appears on the surface.
  8. Mix some water in the mixture and bring it to boil over medium flame.
  9. When it becomes a semi-thick gravy add the fried gram flour dumplings and cook further.
  10. Stir with light hands and make sure that the dumplings were well coated with gravy.
  11. Garnish with green chilies and fresh coriander leaves.
  12. Serve the spicy dumplings with flatbread or steamed rice.
