Shrikhand
Shrikhand can be prepared in different flavors

Ingredients

  • 1 kg Yogurt [ Hung Curd]
  • 21/2 cups of Pistachio flavored Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of Pistachio
  • Dried Rose Petal
  • 5-6 Green cardamom
  • Pinch full of Nutmeg powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon of Sandalwood powder
  • 1 /2 tablespoon of  Rose water
  • 2 tablespoons of mixed dry fruit
  • Few strands of Saffron
  • Milk
  • A small piece of silver leaf [Chandi ka Vark]

Directions

Step 1

Add yogurt to the muslin cloth and tie the knot of the cloth. Remember, the knot must be tight enough to hold the weight of the yogurt.

Step 2

Hang the cloth overnight or for four to six hours. Let the yogurt, strain all the water content.

Step 3

Remove the chunk of yogurt from the cloth and place it in a bowl. Add pistachio sugar, sandalwood powder, rose water and nutmeg powder in the bowl.

Step 4

Gently fold the Shrikhand mix. Add crushed green cardamom and dry fruits to the mix.

Step 5

Mix the saffron strands with milk and pour it into the yogurt mix. Give a final whisk to the Shrikhand and pour the mixture in a presentation bowl.

Step 6

Garnish with silver leaf [Chandi ka Vark] and the Royal Shrikhand is ready to serve.

Tip:

Serve chilled Shrikhand with hot semolina flitters [suji ki puri].

Give a curd massage to the hairs twice a week. As it conditions the hair and make the hair strength and silky too.
