Ingredients

  • 2 cups grated Pumpkin[kaddu]
  • 1/3 cup of Sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Ghee
  • pinch of Cardamom powder
  • 5 tablespoon Milk
  • dry fruits for garnish

Direction

Step 1

Add ghee to the pre-heated saucepan and add the grated pumpkin to it. Stir until the vegetable loses its rawness.

Step 2

Add milk to the mix after 3-4 minutes. Stir well and mix the cardamom powder in to the saucepan. Continue to stir until the milk is completely absorb by the pumpkin.

Step 3

Add sugar and mix all the ingredients well. Turn off the heat when the mixture dries completely.

Step 4

Garnish with dry fruit. You can also garnish with fried dry fruits.

Tip:

The halwa is ready when the mixture leaves sides of the saucepan from all the sides. You can also add almonds, pistachio and raisins to enhance the flavors of the dessert.
