Flattened Rice is made of 76.9 % of carbohydrates and about 23 % of fats. Hence, it’s a great food as these healthy carbs provide energy to the body to carry out is daily functions.

Easily Digestible

It is also light on the stomach and can be easily digested. Can either be had as the first-morning meal or as a light evening meal. And will never cause bloating and will also keep you fill for longer.

Low In Calories

Flattened Rice aka Poha is light in calories. One bowl of cooked vegetable poha has just around 250 calories along with a number of essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants too due to the presence of curry leaves in it. If you add some peanuts to the mix, it raises the number of calories in the meal.

Rich In Iron

Pregnant Women or Lactating Women are often advised to eat soften flattened rice, as these women are at high risk of gestational anemia. This is because the production process of flattened rice requires the rice to pass through iron rollers. The flattened rice retains some of the iron from the process and is hence considered to be rich in iron.
